I haven't used it on the skyscale yet, but there's been many times I've been trying to get somewhere on the griffon and wished I could get just a bit higher. It's definitely a more niche mount than the griffon, but to me that seems appropriate for a living world mount, compared to one released as part of PoF.
Here is the Caeldera, which is a little challenging to find a good dye scheme for, but can look pretty dramatic.Midnight bronze / IncandescentMagma / Resolution. The wing patterns on the Axejaw are cool, just have to find colors with a nice contrast.Vintage Silver / CelestialMidnight Bronze / Enameled Emblaze. There's a pack of 5 skins for 2,000 gems (same as the skyscale pack or the themed packs for the PoF mounts) and skins included in the 400/1,200 gem licences. The only ones which are more expensive are the ones sold directly in the gem store like the War-Torn Marauder, but all the mounts have those as well. 2.
Skyscale of Air (Secrets of the Obscure) Takes effect immediately upon receipt. Hint: Interact with the Cluster of Winds in the Hidden Garden jumping puzzle in Mount Maelstrom. — In-game description. Takes effect immediately upon receipt.
This collection is a streamlined successor to the original; our primary goal was to simplify some of the steps while maintaining much of the collection’s theming and story. Not exactly. You’ll have access to a Skyscale in the SOTO maps but you will not have permanent access to a Skyscale just by completing the story.
Or keep pressing the mount skyscale button and it will dismount you from the skimmer and then right after you'll be on the skyscale. Works with the griffon too. On Tribulation Rift just go to the vista with the skyscale, you skip the entire jumping puzzle. True, multiple ways to skip these/do these faster.
Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure offers an updated path to unlocking your skyscale mount. You’ll use the skyscale and new Masteries to explore epic aerial maps. At launch, two new explorable zones will take you to the skies over Tyria; a new map will become available as the story progresses in future releases. Piece of Skyscale Food. Skyscale Treat. Horn of Maguuma : A New Friend — Raise a skyscale by completing skyscale collections for Skyscale Trainer Dyanne. (5 ) Horn of Maguuma : Skyscale Egg Infusions — Infuse your skyscale egg with all the necessary magics, then bring it to Skyscale Trainer Dyanne. (5) 4.2: Completing the Skyscale Treats collection which involves hunting various creatures for drops. 4.3: Completing the Skyscale Toys collection, which requires a couple events/hearts and a Grow Lamp, which can be purchased on the TP or crafted with a recipe from Dry Top, and requires 10 Charged Quartz. Wait for 2 hours for Gorrik to contact you. Yes, it's quite tricky, especially when the enemy refuses to hold still. ;) The skill takes a few seconds to trigger and be executed, so it's a bummer ~50% of the time (for me). @Echostorm.9143 said:It needs a lot of work. More altitude, more speed, more distance, easier to cling and let go. The first step is to plunder Abandoned Skyscale Nests which are located around Skywatch Archipelago or Amnytas . The number of nests needed to visit is random. Visiting nests until you find the correct one, completes the "Find an abandoned skyscale egg" step. The nests respawn after some time, possibly after the weekly reset.
Chests and nodes are capped by account so they won't respawn until the daily reset. You need two characters to get the remaining 8 or so nodes. There used to be nodes that were not subject to the account daily limit but Anet appears to have silently removed them. You also get a large amount from the Drakkar meta.
A fully-upgraded skyscale, and all of the other mounts for that matter, are just something that the average person who regularly plays Guild Wars 2 just sort of assumes everyone will have. I don’t think this is done with malicious intent; most people I run into in the game aren’t sneering down on newbies who don’t have their dragon mount yet.
I've been away from the game for awhile, so while I've unlocked all of S4, I havn't done any of it. I'm looking for a good goal to get me going in the game again, but a little cloudy on how big of one the skyscale is, and if its worth the work, if you have the other mounts. Thanks for your help.
