I don't agree with the majority of the comments. I used to drive an 07 A8 3.0 TDI regularly almost a decade ago, subsequently, a couple of relatives now have them. MPG I found to be 27 - 30, the higher figures relied upon long distances / steady cruise.
With a long and curved greenhouse, the A8 featured a low drag coefficient, thanks also to the sloped rear window that ended on the flat, horizontal trunk lid. AUDI A8 (D3) 4.2L TDI quattro 6AT
