No. point in paying out for a regas if the clutch has failed. Just unplug the 2 pin plug on the compressor - start the engine - turn ac. on - see if you have got a live and earth. If yes the clutch has gone. If no. it probably has no gas in it. Then you have to start wondering where it has. gone.
Here are the most common symptoms that your Opel Astra is overheating. 1. Gauge/Temp Light. Your Astra will be equipped with a temperature warning light and/or a temperature gauge. The most common symptom of overheating is the temperature light coming on. If this light does come on, make sure that you get off the road quickly and safely.
The most commonly seen cause of an air conditioning problem with a car is refrigerant leakage. There are two causes that often make clear this kind of loss of refrigerant in the air conditioning: the age of your vehicle and the existence of mold. One other important point to determine a likely leak: the existence of oil stain filled with Freon
Faulty Compressor. A faulty compressor will not move the refrigerant through the system properly. Here are the four main reasons why your Adam’s may not be working: Clutch Cycling Switch – AC systems use an electromagnetic clutch to activate the compressor. When this switch fails, your air conditioning will only blow warm air.

Only 3 fuses that could affect it, F2.39 5A, F3.40 5A and F3.35 10A. if these fuses are ok then the power is supplied via the cooling module which is on the passenger side front, there are some checks you can do to see if you have power at the terminal plug if you have a multi meter. After running it for a while I noticed the temperature was not very cold and certainly not chilled. When I turn off the air con the temperature stays pretty much the same. I've checked the fuse and it's ok.

The most common causes for AC fan blower motor not working in Vauxhall Astra are blown fuse, bad relay, resistor or control module malfunction and faulty blower motor. However, a bad electrical connector or broken wire, or a defect in the climate control unit can also cause the blower motor to stop working. 1.
Fuse box diagram (Astra G since 2001). fuses and relays are coded as follows. (5A) Electric windows, sunroof, electric door mirrors, interior lamp, alarm system. (10A) Indicators/hazard warning lamps, interior lamp, automatic transmission (AT) (10A) Daytime running lamps, lamps 'on' warning, alarm system, immobilizer control module.
When the engine is on. When the engine is on and the AC is on high, low pressure readings should be around 30 psi and the high pressure side should be about 250 psi depending on your car. The correct reading will display once the clutch engages and the gauge stops cycling. If there are readings on both the high and low sides but they are not
redman. Your problem may be with the engine cooling module. When in traffic you can cool your engine via the internal heater being set to max speed and max heat. You'll need to have the windows open and direct the heat away from you. Purely a temporary solution. Your problem may be with the engine cooling module.
Low and High AC gauge pressures are high with no fluctuation. The system is overcharged, there’s a lack of airflow across the condenser (clogged fins, radiator/condenser fans not working or not working at the proper speed), or you have air and moisture in the system. What to do if AC pressures are high: 1. Id say 100% your fan is blewing your resistor, as the fan would work on setting 4 as it by passes the resistor on that setting. your fan is knackered resulting in your resistor blewing its thermal fuse. today to my dismay I have discovered that no air is coming out of vents. Does not matter what setting (1,2,3,4 cold, hot) there is no movement. OAwjIk.
